Everybody Needs A Mentor – VOLBC1

Posted by: | Comments (1)

Everyone needs a mentor, guru, rabbi or just some smart person to imitate.  Luckily while trying to learn how to function in the eBay world I found several.  Three of those had, and still have the most influence on my citizenship in eBayland.

You will easily find these ladies by searching the Internet.  You will find books, videos, CD’s, classes, blogs, radio shows; and you will find that they provide an immense amount of information and guidance FREE!  Each of their websites below links to numerous other sources of great information.

You can normally find the links at the top of my web pages.

Danna Crawford aka PowerSellingMom.

After I learned enough about eBay to not be embarrassed in public discussions, I branched out from eBay workshops, blogs and so forth on the eBay sites.  I joined Social Media activities such as MySpace, LinkedIn and Facebook.  LinkedIn had a group of eBay sellers who were extremely knowledgeable.  That group included Danna who I accidentally met by one of us responding to comments made by the other.

Basically you could tell by our comments that we enjoyed the level of knowledge in the group but not the level of whining and eBay bashing.

A short time later Danna started Virtual Online Learning (VOL) as a drama free eBay learning experience.  When I joined VOL in July 2009 and we had about three (3) members.  Today there are 113 Virtualites with 1 application pending.

Marsha Collier, author of numerous books, videos, and more.

I haven’t met Marsha but I feel like I know her since I have read almost every eBay related ‘for Dummies’ book she has written.  Her books are great for starting, maintaining and expanding your eBay business.

Suzanne Wells the eBaySellingCoach

Suzanne publishes an unbelievable amount of information to get your eBay business started, and jump start the business when it slows down.  I credit following her advise as the reason I made power seller status several months before my goal date.
